Congratulations to all of the 2025 You are ACE! Awards finalists
Winners will be announced on Aged Care Employee Day, 7 August 2025.
Aged Care Employee Day – 7 August
Aged Care Employee Day, held on 7 August each year, is a national celebration recognising the dedication of staff across aged care, retirement living and seniors housing.
From nurses and personal carers to volunteers, cleaners, chefs, administrators and maintenance teams, the day is about thanking all who play a role in supporting older Australians.
Whether providing frontline care or working behind the scenes, these professionals are acknowledged with the simple but powerful message: #ThanksforCaring.
The day shines a spotlight on the selfless, compassionate care delivered every day – often without recognition – by workers who uphold the dignity and wellbeing of older people.
It’s also a time to advocate for better support across the sector and to raise awareness of the meaningful, rewarding careers available in aged care.
Join the celebrations
Ageing Australia provides a free ACED Toolkit each year to help providers, staff and communities get involved, with resources such as posters, banners, social tiles and templates.
We encourage you and your organisation to submit written messages of thanks and upload a short video to personally recognise aged care workers and share your appreciation.
ACED 2025 messages of thanks

I would like to thank the amazing team that work at Aminya in Mannum.
We have been through so much including outbreaks and staff shortages and now a building extension – the team pull together and somehow make it happen.
Our staff say yes again, and again and still come to their shift the next day.
The job that they do, the effort that they put in, the dedication that they show and their ability to continue smiling and laughing never ceases to impress me.
You guys are awesome.
Thank you.

In May this year my wife, who suffers from advanced dementia, was admitted to Koh-I-Noor aged care residential facility.
My immediate impression of KIN and all of its staff was one of friendliness and warmth.
To single any one person out for outstanding service would be unfair to all others as they work together as a cohesive and positive team.
The greatest responsibility and trust to give to anyone is to look after your loved one.
The team in the Perry wing with the support of other areas go above and beyond the call of duty.
Thank you all.

Aged care employees are real-life heroes, not in capes, but in uniforms, walking into each day with compassion & strength.
Caring for our older community members is not an easy job. Everyone has an opinion on how it should be done, but only the strongest hearts can do it day in & day out with kindness & dignity.
Your work matters more than words can say. You bring comfort where there is pain, company where there is loneliness, & laughter where there might otherwise be silence.
Today and every day, you deserve to be celebrated.
