Ageing Australia

Ageing Australia® is the national peak body for aged care, representing providers of retirement living, seniors housing, residential care, home care and community services.

We advocate for our members, providing expert advice, resources and tailored services to ensure they deliver exceptional care to older Australians.

Our new name speaks to the diversity of aged services in Australia and embodies our commitment to the whole continuum of ageing.

Aged Care Employee Day 2025

This year’s Aged Care Employee Day, held on 7 August, saw an outpouring of thanks and appreciation across Australia, for people who work in the aged care sector.

The day offered an opportunity for leaders of aged care providers to shine a spotlight on the selfless, compassionate care delivered day-in-day-out by workers who are committed to upholding the dignity and wellbeing of older people.

Board members, CEOs, managers, team leaders, Ministers, state and local government representatives, stood alongside Ageing Australia’s team, to express their profound appreciation for aged care workers. Having so many people speaking in unison helped to raise awareness of the meaningful, rewarding careers available in aged care.

Whether providing frontline care or working behind the scenes, these professionals were acknowledged with the simple but powerful message: #ThanksforCaring.
